Advocate Lauras Butkevičius joins law firm TGS Baltic

TGS Baltic team was joined by advocate Lauras Butkevičius who has been practicing as an advocate for many years and is a specialist of competition law well-known in the Baltic legal services market. Lauras will work as an Of Counsel in the areas of competition and corporate law in the Public Law Department, Competition Law Practice Group.

Lauras graduated from the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University, had traineeship at Utrecht University. After his studies for the master’s degree, Lauras stayed in the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University, where he continued his doctoral studies and lectured on various subjects. In 2008, he defended a doctoral thesis on the topic of competition law and was awarded the degree of a doctor of social sciences (law). Since 2013 L. Butkevičius has been an Associate Professor of the Public Law Department at the Faculty of Law.

L. Butkevičius has been practicing as a lawyer for over 16 years. Before joining TGS Baltic, Lauras worked in law firms CIVILKA BUTKEVIČIUS ŠVEDAS, SORAINEN, COBALT. Lauras had traineeship in the Finnish law firm Roschier.

In developing the competition law practice, Lauras has prepared a number of academic and practical publications on this topic. Lauras gives trainings, takes part in conferences, seminars and public discussions on various topics of competition law and politics.
