MAJOR PROJECTS

Represents one of the largest Lithuanian construction companies in ICC International Court of Arbitration. The dispute concerns the decommissioning of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant in Lithuania (2012–present);

Represented oil refinery company in legal proceedings brought pursuant to refinery’s statement of claim against the insurance broker operating in the United Kingdom with respect to improper provision of insurance broker’s services and related compensation for damage. Alternative requests have been made in the proceedings; the amount claimed was maximum USD 137 million and minimum USD 35 million of the compensation for damage. A settlement agreement has been signed between the parties (2012–2014);

Represented oil refinery in arbitration proceedings before the London Court of International Arbitration related to the reconstruction of oil refining equipment. The amount in dispute was USD 5 million (2007–2011);

Represented the client in legal dispute brought to ICC International Court of Arbitration. The dispute arose out of the EPC contract concerning provision of engineering, procurement and construction services in order to build a new Gasoline Selective Hydrotreatment Unit (2009–2011);

Prepared legal expert report in ICSID case No. ARB/05/8 Parkerings-Compagniet AS v. Republic of Lithuania (2006–2007);

Represented the client in ICC International Court of Arbitration in a dispute related to Flue Gas Desulphurisation and NOx Removal Project (2008–2010);

Provided legal advice to UAB LITGAS regarding the Sale and Purchase Agreement for Liquefied Natural Gas with Statoil ASA (2015);

Provided legal consultations to UAB Pamario Jėgainių Energija related to the development of one of the largest wind farms in Lithuania, intended construction of wind plants and power lines, also successfully represented the client in auctions on distribution of tariff quotas organised by the National Commission for Energy Control and Prices (2012–2014).

Provided legal advice regarding the LNG terminal activities and related legal issues (2016);

Provided legal advice regarding the Master Sale and Purchase Agreement for Spot LNG (2015);

Provided legal consultations regarding the oil products transshipment services agreement between AB Klaipedos Nafta and Litasco S. A. and related arrangements (2014–2015);

Legal advice and preparation of draft agreements regarding AB Klaipedos Nafta negotiations with ZAO Belaruskaja Naftavaja Kampanija for long-term cooperation in oil products transshipment services and related agreements (2015);

Legal advice to AB Klaipėdos Nafta regarding gas flow possibilities to Ukraine (2014);

Provided legal consultations to UAB GLAXOSMITHKLINE LIETUVA concerning the information which the company must disclose to the public in accordance with Annex D – SPS (healthcare specialists) / SPO (healthcare organisations) to the Code of Ethics for Pharmaceutical Marketing (information about the values transferred to healthcare specialists), also drafted documents related to the transfer of information to other companies of GLAXOSMITHKLINE Group abroad under the Binding Corporate Rules (2014);

Continuously advises Microsoft on various personal data protection issues related to software updates, cybersecurity, cloud computing services etc. (2014–present);

Provided pro bono legal services and represented Ruta Meilutytė, a Lithuanian born swimmer, winner of Olympic games, World and European Championships, regarding various intellectual property law issues (2014–2015);

Prepared a legal opinion on the obligation of operators (PKN ORLEN SA, SIA Latvijas propāna gāze) to accumulate petroleum products and national oil stocks and possible compensation mechanisms (2010, 2014);

At the request of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, carried out a study “Application and development possibilities of alternative mechanisms for settlement of consumer disputes in Lithuania” (2012);

Legal advice to ENERG UAB (part of international ENER-G Group based in the UK) related to electricity generation from landfill gas in Lithuania. The advice concerned Lithuanian legislation with respect to generation of electricity from landfill gas, in particular with respect to rules for establishing applicable tariffs and fixed rates allocated to the client in the auction (2012–2014);

Prepares the Study on the Law Applicable to Insurance Contracts being drafted under the Service Contract with the European Commission (2015 – present).
